Sports Person of the Year Award
Sport Aberdeen in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Sports Council, Chris Anderson Trust, Aberdeen University, Robert Gordon's University and Active Schools Aberdeen are pleased to be able to showcase the best talent in the North East. Many of whom are linked to the sportscotland Institute of Sport.
The awards evening is held in April/May at the Beach Ballroom and celebrates sporting achievement from the previous year, January - December.
The City of Aberdeen present awards for Sports Person of the Year (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and the Lord Provosts volunteer of the year category.
Nominees for both awards must be over 18, resident in Aberdeen or member of Aberdeen based club, committed to being involved in sport for the next year, involved in a sport recognised by sportscotland. In the case of the volunteer award they must have given unpaid service to sport. In the case of the Sports Person award shown improvement in performance and competed regularly at a national or international level.

Applications are now being taken for the 2011 awards so please download the Sports Person of the Year Nomination Form and return to sportspersonoftheyear@sportaberdeen.co.uk by Friday 23 March 2012.
