Chris Anderson Trust

2010 winners Chris Anderson, the former vice-chairman of Aberdeen Football Club, was a sporting visionary and the driving force that helped take the Dons to the peak of European Football in the 1980's. The Chris Anderson Trust was set up in 1988 to honour his memory and to recognise the contribution and commitment he made to sport in general.

The Trust assists in the development of sporting talent among young people in the North-east, providing grants for under-18's and recognising outstanding achievement by the annual award of the Chris Anderson Memorial Medal. The trust also supports grass roots development by providing skills schools in a wide range of sports.

The Chris Anderson Trust Medal

The medal is given annually to a junior 17&U for outstanding achievement in sport.   The medal is presented at a joint awards evening with Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen Sports Council during April/May every year.

Nominations for the 2011 Chris Anderson Trust memorial medal are now  being taken, please  download a copy of the Chris Anderson Trust Nomination Form and return to  sportspersonoftheyear@sportaberdeen.co.uk by Friday 23 March 2012.

Individual grants

Financial grant aid for sports people. Applicants must be over 8 and under 18 and only one application every 12 months.

For applications to be considered by the Chris Anderson Trust Committee in 2012 they need to be received by:

  • Monday 30 January
  • Monday 30 April
  • Monday 27 August
  • Monday 22 October
