Will I receive my race number and chip before the event?
All entries received by 20 April 2012 (Public) & 4 May 2012 (Charities) will receive a race pack by post prior to the event. Race packs include a race T-shirt, race number & pins, timing chip and a race information booklet.

Is there a minimum age for entry to the 10K?
The minimum age for entrants is 16 on the day of the race.

Can I run for charity?
Yes, the race itself has Race Charities but runner can choose to take part for other charities if they want.

What if I can no longer take part can I swap my race pack?
Under no circumstances pass your race pack on to another runner without contacting Race Timing Systems. Participants running as someone else can affect the results for everyone in the race.

Can my friends and family come to spectate on the day?
Spectators are welcome. You will get good views of the runners at the start on the beach boulevard, then as they come past along the beach esplanade and finally from the Broad Hill as the runners finish.

Are there any changing/toilet/shower facilities?
There is changing and toilet facilities but no showering facilities.

Do I need to register on the day of the event?
No registration is required, please ensure your timing chip is attached to your shoe as per the instructions and your race number is secured to the front of your running vest/t-shirt. Assemble as directed by the race starter on the Beach Esplanade.

Can I enter on the day of the race?
No entries will be taken on the day of the race.

How does the chip timing work?
The timing chip starts your individual time as you cross the start line and records your finish time when you cross the finish line. The chips are disposable and do not need to be returned at  the end of the race.

Does the event have first aid cover?
The event has paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance service and a full team of qualified and experienced first aiders on site.

Does the event have water stations?
The event has 3 water stations, the first at 5K, the second at 8.5K and the final station at the finish.

When and where are the results published?
Results will be published on this site 24 hours after the race. There is an optional text messaging service for those who enter online. This is subject to an additional charge and runners will receive their finish time via text message at the end of the race.

When will the prize giving take place?
The prize giving will take place at 10:30 in the race village.

Why can't I wear my MP3 player?
If you are unable to hear other runners around you in a field of 5000 runners, you are a danger to them and yourself. You will also be unable to hear instructions from race officials.
