Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

An all time favourite, this modern classic is both gripping and macabre. A good read for older readers. If you enjoy it then why not try some of Neil Gaiman's other titles, including his picture books for older readers and graphic novels. Neil also wrote Coraline which has been made into a film. 

 

Sedric

 

Sedric and the Great Pig Rescue by Angie Morgan

This new historical tale set in the Dark Ages is a good alternative for fans of Mr Gum. Silly and fun this is the first book of the series. 

 

  

   Broccoli Boy

 

The Astounding Broccoli Boy by Frank Cottrell Boyce

Turning green! This must mean Rory is a superhero. Find out what happens when he and the school bully try to get past  hospital security to discover what their superpowers are.
