First Minister's Reading Challenge
The First Minister's Reading Challenge was launched in September 2016 to encourage children in P4-7 classes to read a wide range of books and discover authors old and new.
The Challenge has a list of 100 recommendations covering 10 different genres with a further 2 suggestions per recommendation. All primary schools in Aberdeen received a copy of the booklist however the list can also be found at First Ministers Reading Challenge
The recommendations are just a starting point and children can read any books they like. Why not visit your local library and check out what's available there? Remember that talking books, ebooks, and eaudiobooks can all be read as part of the Challenge.
Schools who register for the Challenge can request individual reading passports where children can record which books they've read.
The links on the right take you to a selection of websites with other suggestions of great books to read.
There are also a number of First Minister's Reading Challenge challenges to inspire schools and children to get involved.
