Volunteering

 

Volunteering is a great way to learn and develop new skills, build your confidence and enhance your CV. There are several ways for young people aged 14+ to volunteer with Aberdeen City Libraries

 

Duke of Edinburgh

Young People working towards their Duke of Edinburgh award can volunteer on a regular basis in libraries throughout the city. Places are limited. Contact should be made in the first instance by the young person themselves via email or telephone- details below.

Saltire Awards

Young People aged 14-25 who volunteer can accumulate volunteer hours to count towards a Saltire Award. Places are limited. Contact should be made in the first instance by the young person themselves via email or telephone- details below.

Work Experience

Aberdeen City Libraries have a limited number of places throughout the year for school pupils seeking to take part in work experience placements. Contact should be made via your school's normal placement procedures.

Reel Futures Film Project

Following a successful funding bid Aberdeen City Libraries are delighted to offer the chance for young people aged 16-25 to join us as part of the Reel Futures Film Project. The project will run from August 2017 to March 2018 and is an exciting opportunity for anyone with a passion for film and media to build and showcase their talents. From generating and researching ideas, storyboarding, budgeting to filming, editing and marketing, you’ll play a key role in the development and creation of films dedicated to promoting Aberdeen City Libraries.
