Climate Week North East @ Aberdeen City Libraries

Logo for Aberdeen Climate Action

From 20th March to 25th March, Aberdeen City Libraries and Aberdeen Climate Action are collaborating to celebrate Climate Week 2017, with a series of exhibitions, talks and other sessions across the community.  Throughout the week, there will be an exhibition in Central Library as part of a larger series of exhibitions across the city, and we will be welcoming partners from other agencies into our Lending Library to promote their services.  These are - Monday 20th March & Tuesday 21st March - Aberdeen City Council Recycling Team, Wednesday 22nd March - Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th & Saturday 25th March - Home Energy Scotland

Central Library Lending also hosts Aberdeen Climate Action on Wednesday 22nd March for an engaging discussion with inspirational speakers from 18:30 in the evening.  Speakers include Alison Stuart from Aberdeen Climate Action, Jane Fullerton from Don Hydro, Dave Simmers from CFINE and others.  To reserve your place at this event, please email or telephone 01224 652500.  Places are free, but booking is essential.

Also on Wednesday 22nd March, come along to Cults Community Library for a session of Climate Change based Story Telling and Games!  This is aimed at children between the ages of 4-7, but we will welcome any ages.  Join us at 4 o'clock!

And finally, specialist advisors from Home Energy Scotland will be delivering a free workshop explaining the benefits of installing home renewables at Aberdeen Central Library on Friday 24th March from 3pm-4pm. Advisors will be on hand to answer any questions you have about what is suitable for your home and will be joined by a homeowner who has gone through the process themselves who can provide hints and tips on the process of installing renewable measures. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for a free home renewables visit from one of the advisors which involves a free survey of your property and results in an informative report explaining what measures would be most beneficial to your home. Home Energy Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust.

For more information on the wider program, please see here - - and we look forward to welcoming you next week.
