Aberdeen City Council housing budget proposals approved

Budget proposals for the 2012/13 Housing Revenue Account (HRA) and the Housing Capital Account were approved by Aberdeen city councillors today [Thursday 09 February].
On Monday 6 February 2012, new legislation will come into force which will allow for certain domestic extensions and alterations to take place without the need for planning permission. Find out more information.

Aberdeen City Council is to make a concerted effort to recruit more school crossing patrollers city-wide. The Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure Committee unanimously approved a motion by Councillor Jennifer Stewart to "run a robust recruitment campaign to increase the number of school crossing patrollers". Aberdeen City Council has approved its revenue budget and capital programme for 2012/13.
The C89C Kingswells to Newhills road will be closed between Kingswells Crescent and the C88C Newhills Road on Sunday [12 February] while road repairs are carried out.
Elphinstone Road will be partially closed for up to six weeks from Monday [13 February] during the installation of traffic calming measures (speed cushions).
Aberdeen City Council's Street Work project will hold an alcohol awareness and information session at an under 16s disco today [Friday 10 February] from 6pm to 9pm at Requiem Nightclub, Justice Mill Lane, Aberdeen.
Parking will be banned on Albert Street between the Carden Place and Albert Terrace junctions on Sunday [12 February] while Scottish Water ironwork repairs are carried out.

Road closures may be required for local gala events or public gatherings. Alternative traffic routes are identified for temporary road closures were possible.
