Aberdeen City and Shire

With around 50 golf courses already established, Aberdeen City and Shire's golf offering will be significantly enhanced when the Trump International Golf development is completed. Ground works for the golf courses have already commenced and the resort masterplan is expected to be submitted for approval in early 2010.

Despite global recessionary pressures, the commercial property market remains strong on the back of continuing healthy occupier demand from the energy and life sciences sectors in particular. Recent completions in the commercial sector have provided headquarters for TAQA and Acergy and prime office space is achieving rents of £300/sq metre.

Energetica – The Global Energy Hub

A public-private partnership to create the world's greatest concentration of energy technology companies, housing and leisure facilities, the Energetica initiative occupies a 30-mile coastal strip between Aberdeen and Peterhead. It includes the proposed Balmedie development, a sustainable community project which encompasses a school, shops and employment opportunities and incorporates a combined heat and power 'energy centre'.

City Centre Developments

Aberdeen city centre has undergone significant redevelopment via Hammerson's £250m investment in the Union Square retail and leisure development and the extension of the Bon Accord shopping centre by The Scottish Retail Partnerships. The proposed City Square Project project is a £120m initiative to create a new public space at the heart of the city for recreation, leisure and major events. Major growth opportunities for investors, developers and occupiers remain as the city builds on this activity.

Hotel and Resort Development
