Festive arrangements for city’s waste and recycling collections

19/12/13

Waste and recycling collections scheduled for Christmas Day (Wednesday, 25 December) and New Year's Day (Wednesday, 01 January) will instead be picked up on Saturday, 28 December and Saturday, 04 January respectively.

Other waste and recycling pick-ups will continue as scheduled but collection times may vary so residents are asked to leave bins or boxes on the kerbside by 7am.

The city's four household waste and recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

On street recycling bins will be available throughout the festive season, including the recently-introduced food waste recycling service.

Food waste such as turkey bones and vegetable peelings can be discarded in the brown wheeled bin for residents with kerbside collections and in the on street communal bins for residents of flats and multi-storey blocks.
