City Wardens to set up stall in Union Square this weekend
Aberdeen City Wardens will be on hand at Union Square this weekend to issue safety advice to shoppers.
They will run their information stall in the main concourse from 9am until 6pm tomorrow [Saturday 15 December] and on Sunday to hand out community safety leaflets on behalf of Grampian Police and Grampian Fire and Rescue Service.
They will also promote the role of the warden service in the community and the help they can provide to elderly and vulnerable people over the winter period by, for example, carrying out shopping trips.
Road safety advice to equip motorists, cyclists and pedestrians for the wintry conditions will also be on offer, along with general information for visitors to the city.
Aberdeen City Council community safety manager Neil Carnegie said: "Our warden service was established to help the public. Shoppers at Union Square will get the chance this weekend to meet some of the team members and pick up useful advice and information which will stand them in good stead over the winter period."
