Make scary sea monsters at maritime museum
A free family-friendly junk re-modelling workshop is on offer this Saturday [18 August] at Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Shiprow.
The public is welcome to drop-in anytime from 11am to 3pm and have fun turning ordinary household junk into scary sea monsters.
Aberdeen City Council's Waste Aware Team will also be at the museum so visitors can learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle a sea of waste. Participants' can also find out how to transform an old plastic bottle into a fish, a carrier bag into an octopus or use waste materials to invent their very own sea creature.
Lynsey Merrick, formal learning officer for Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums said: "Junk modelling is one of our most popular activities and having the Waste Aware Team on hand, to discuss what we can all do to be more environmentally friendly, will certainly add to our participants' experience."
