Grass-cutting consultation
24/12/08
Grass-cutting services are set to be reviewed following a public consultation in the new year.
Approximately 13% of the city's grass-cutting areas were removed from routine maintenance last year. The grass-cutting regimes have now been reviewed and the council plans to start cutting a number of areas which were not routinely cut in the 2008/9 season.
To do this and balance resources, Aberdeen City Council intends to reduce the number of cuts made per season to the majority of areas which are being maintained. This will impact on the length of grass in those areas.
The city council wants to hear the views of residents, councillors, community councils and trade unions on the proposed changes to the grass-cutting service.
A one-off consultation event is being held in committee room four at the Town House on Wednesday, 14 January, between 2pm and 8pm. Details of the proposed routes and maps will be on display at that time.
