Golden Games golfers grab Scottish Open trophy

Participants in the Golden Games golf session at Kings Links got the chance to get their hands on the Scottish Open golf trophy today [Thurs 12 June].

Eileen Riach holds the Scottish Open golf trophy along side fellow golfers, Robin Bowden, John Emslie, Alastair McLeod, Bob Dey and Alan Bolton. Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open organisers brought the famous trophy to the Kings Links 6-hole course to give older golfers taking part in the Golden Games session the opportunity to see the cup up close.

The Scottish Open is being held at the nearby Royal Aberdeen course next month, 10–13 July.

Now in its fourth year, the award-winning Golden Games is being held over four days this week, featuring more than 40 free sports and activities at a host of venues across the city and with more than 600 folk signed up to take part.

The programme for over-65s is a partnership between Aberdeen City Council, Sport Aberdeen, Aberdeen Sports Village and NHS Grampian.
