Kerbside collection calendars due to be delivered to Aberdeen residents this week
20/02/12
Calendars outlining 2012/13 dates for the collection of household waste, recycling and food and garden waste will be distributed throughout Aberdeen this week.
The handy kerbside calendars provide details of collection dates from March 2012 to April 2013. Information is presented clearly with the collection dates for each of the different containers colour-coded.
Residents are reminded that their black wheeled bin is for non-recyclable waste and the brown wheeled bin for food and garden waste. The white bag is for recycling paper and small pieces of cardboard and the black box for recycling aerosol, food and drink cans, foil trays and kitchen foil, glass bottles and jars and plastic bottles.
All bins must be placed by the kerbside by 7am on the day of collection.
Collection facilities for large pieces of cardboard are available at the city's household waste and recycling centres (except Perwinnes Moss, Scotstown Road).
Residents can also recycle waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries at all centres. Additional items, such as textiles and cardboard food and drink cartons can be recycled at some of the council's neighbourhood recycling points.
If anyone is unsure about the services they receive or seek additional information call 08456 08 09 19 or e-mail wasteaware@aberdeencity.gov.uk
