Traffic restrictions during gas mains replacement works

A rolling series of partial road closures will be put in place on Clifton Road next year while work to replace a gas mains is carried out.

The work is due to start on January 5, and is expected to last for up to seven weeks, but is weather dependent.

The closures will be phased as follows:

Phase one: Clifton Road will be closed between the Leslie Road and Burnett Place junctions.

Phase two: Clifton Road will be closed between the Burnett Place and Lilybank Place junctions.

Phase three: Clifton Road will be closed between Lilybank Place and number 12 Clifton Road.

Access will be maintained from either end of the road up to the points of closure.

The diversion for buses will be via Leslie Road and Great Northern Road.

To enable the buses to navigate the diversion a 'no waiting at any time' parking restriction will be enforced on sections of Leslie Road for a distance of 10 metres either side of the two bus stops.

The 'at any time' parking restriction on Clifton Road will be extended for 10metres north from the junction of Hilton Street.
