Want a new book? Swap for Climate Week
Literature fans can go green by taking part in Aberdeen City Council's Book Swap for Climate Week.
The event will take place at lunchtimes in the foyer of Marischal College from Monday to Friday next week [03-07 March] between noon and 2pm. Anyone can take part, just bring along a book that you no longer want and swap it for another one.
Taking part helps to save resources by giving books a new life, rather than just throwing them away. Aberdeen City Libraries will be on hand during the week and can register people with their local library on the spot.
The event is part of the Climate Week Swap, a series of events taking place across Britain to mark Climate Week. Each year, around 3,000 events are run by schools, businesses, charities, councils and many others.
Participation in Climate Week is one of a range of activities carried out by the council to tackle climate change; including reducing emissions and adapting to a changing climate. Aberdeen City Council, alongside all signatories in Scotland, is a signatory of the Scottish Climate Change Declaration and reports on climate change actions and activities each year.
