Kids swap school bells for bluebells

Hazlehead Primary pupils joined forces with Aberdeen City Council environmental staff to plant 5,000 bluebells in a small wooded area near the school.
Local councillor Jennifer Stewart joined the massive bulb-planting effort, which is part of the city's Britain in Bloom effort.
The community event gave the youngsters the opportunity to learn about the plants and how they grow, as well about Britain in Bloom and Aberdeen's impressive record in the contest.
Councillor Stewart said: "As a mother, I know how important it is for children to get outdoors and learn about nature. Planting bluebells is a great way for them to have fun and learn something important at the same time."
