Watch the birdies at Lochinch Farm
Aberdeen City Council's Countryside Rangers are holding a bird watching event at their base at Lochinch Farm, off Redmoss Road, Nigg on Saturday [15 February].
Countryside Officer Ian Talboys will lead the event, which will begin at 11am and finish around 1pm.
Places must be booked in advance by calling 01224 897400 or e-mailing email@example.com.
The meeting place is Lochinch Farm.
Ian said: "This is a great time to go bird watching at Lochinch and usually there is a good variety of water birds on the Loch of Loirston, especially when it is cold.
"In the past few weeks there have been plenty of wigeon, mallard and some goldeneye.
"The fields and woodland shelter belts are also good places to spot different kinds of finches, thrushes and even wading birds such as curlew.
"Overhead there can be buzzards and kestrels and if we are lucky even a red kite."
Participants are asked to wrap up warm and bring binoculars if they have a pair.
