A little afternoon music

A wonderful afternoon of music is free to enjoy this Sunday [5 July] at two of the city's most popular parks when Aberdeen City Council's Bands in the Park programme gets under way.

The events will take place in Duthie Park and Hazlehead Park from 2pm to 4pm on most Sundays throughout the summer until 16 August.

Whether it is the sound of the pipes, chorale, accordion, brass, or jazz, bring a picnic and something to sit on for a relaxing time.

Jennifer Stewart, lead councillor for culture and sport said: "With such wonderful musicians and singers performing as part of the bands in the parks programme I am sure that Sunday afternoons in the parks will be extremely popular with residents and visitors to the city.

"It is good to see the old traditions back and enjoyed by everyone."
