Weekend traffic arrangements during Kingswells road works

11/01/13

Road development works are continuing as part of the Prime Four business park development at Kingswells, which will see the closure of the C128c Cults to Kingshill road at weekends.

The A944 will be widened east and westbound with additional dedicated lanes to Prime Four, and the Kingswells roundabout will be realigned.

Starting this weekend the Cults to Kingshill road will be closed at the Kingswells roundabout from 6.30pm on Fridays until 6am on Mondays. This closure will also take place on the weekends beginning 25 January, and 1, 8, 15, and 22 February while services at the roundabout are realigned prior to the road being widened.

Traffic coming from Aberdeen will be permitted to go straight ahead only. Traffic wishing to access the C89C Chapel of Stoneywood to Fairley Road will be diverted via the Westhill roundabout.

Traffic coming from Westhill will be permitted to turn left or go straight ahead only.

Traffic coming from Kingswells will be permitted to turn left only.  Traffic wishing to travel to Westhill will be diverted via the Green Hedges roundabout at the junction of the A944/B9119.

The works and closures are weather dependent.

The Kingswells Park and Ride access road remains closed between its junction with the A944 Skene Road and the lower car park. Access to the Park and Ride site is being maintained from the C89c Chapel of Stoneywood to Fairley Road. The exit from the Park and Ride site is via the upper car park near the bus terminal

Speed limits of 20mph and 30mph remain in place on sections of the A944 affected by the works, but will only be applied when required and signs will be used to inform motorists when they are in use.
