Third phase of Kingswells road works to get underway
Road improvement works for the Prime Four business park development at Kingswells are progressing, with the third phase of the project getting underway from Monday [11 February].
Traffic restrictions will be in place to ensure the works can be carried out safely and are as follows:
From 6am on Monday [11 February] until 8 March:
The C128C Cults to Kingshill road will be closed to northbound traffic while new service ducts and drainage are installed and other works are carried out at the south-west embankment. This closure will be in place throughout.
During the weekends beginning 8, 15 and 22 February; and 1, 8, 15 and 22 March from 6.30pm on Fridays until 6am on Mondays:
the C128C Cults to Kingshill road will be closed to all traffic while services at the Kingswells roundabout are realigned. An alternative route is available via the C127C Countesswells Road, Springfield Road, B9119 Queen's Road and B9119 Skene Road.
During the weekends beginning 15 and 22 February, and 1, 8, 15 and 22 March from 6.30pm on Fridays until 6am on Mondays:
There will be no right turns at the roundabout. Motorists travelling from the C86C Chapel of Stoneywood to Fairley road wishing to travel west on to the A944 will be diverted via the Green Hedges roundabout and back along the A944 and will be able to travel straight on towards Westhill from the Kingswells roundabout.
Motorists travelling from Aberdeen on the A944 Skene Road wishing to travel north onto the C98c Chapel of Stoneywood to Fairley road will be diverted via the Westhill roundabout and back along the A944, from where they can turn left at the Kingswells roundabout towards Kingswells.
The 30mph speed limit on the A944, from 500m west of the Ardene House Veterinary Hospital access road, to 750m east of the Kingswells roundabout will be in place until 30 June, but will only be enforced when required and signs will be used to inform motorists.
The 20mph speed limit on the same stretch also remains in place until 30 June, but will only be enforced at cross-over points when contra-flows are required and signs will be used to inform motorists.
There will be no access to or egress from the Kingswells Park and Ride car park from the A944 Skene Road until 30 June. Access will be maintained from the C98C Chapel of Stoneywood to Fairley road. Egress will be from the upper car park near the bus terminal.
