Council to discuss options for the future with Network Rail
Talks between Aberdeen City Council and Network Rail about aspirations for city centre regeneration will take place next week.
Director of Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure Gordon McIntosh is due to open exploratory talks with Network Rail on Monday [03 February].
The director will meet with Network Rail Scotland development manager Alan MacMillan to discuss a number of issues across the city, including improved access to the railway station from Union Terrace Gardens.
Aberdeen City Council is in the process of procuring a masterplan for the city centre as part of the regeneration process for the area.
Deputy council leader Marie Boulton said: "This is an important initial meeting with Network Rail, who could be an important partner in our efforts to rejuvenate and modernise our city centre. This is a first step in what will inevitably be a complex process, but which promises the possibility of huge rewards for Aberdeen."
