Moving On Youth Recruitment Event


A one-day free youth recruitment event to promote training, apprenticeships and employment opportunities for school-leavers and upcoming summer leavers is to take place in Aberdeen this month

The Moving On Youth Recruitment Event which is being hosted by Aberdeen City Council in partnership with Skills Development Scotland is open to any young person and their parents wanting to learn more about post-school opportunities available in the city.

Confirmed exhibitors include Stewart Milne Group, NHS Grampian, Aberdeen City Council, First Aberdeen Ltd and The Royal Navy with many having vacancies and apprenticeships opportunities that attendees can apply for on the day.

Aberdeen City Council Communities, Housing and Infrastructure convener Councillor Neil Cooney said: "The Moving On Youth Recruitment Event is a great opportunity for the young people in our city to gain access to job vacancies and training and apprenticeship opportunities that are available in the region in what is currently a challenging time for recruitment and employability across the city."

Professionals will also be on hand to give advice on training and career choices for those not yet ready to enter employment.

The event, which is being held at Aberdeen Town House, Town and County Hall on Wednesday 30 March from 1pm to 7pm, is part of Aberdeen Guarantees, a partnership initiative led by Aberdeen City Council aimed at improving opportunities for 14-25 year olds.
