Great Northern Road works postponed for one week
Roadworks planned for Great Northern Road have been postponed for a week.
A one-way system which had due to be put in place on the road this weekend will instead be implemented for up to a fortnight from Sunday, 16 February.
The road will be open to northbound traffic only between the Clifton Road and St Machar Drive junctions during utilities installation works for the new Police Scotland custody centre at Kittybrewster.
Southbound (citybound) traffic will be diverted along St Machar Drive and Bedford Road.
The travelling public is advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their journeys.
Aberdeen City Council's roads staff have worked with the utility companies involved to ensure that the respective works are carried out at the same time, to minimise future disruption. The council will monitor the work to ensure they are completed as quickly as possible.
During the works, which are due to be complete by 01 March, there will be a ban on right turns from Bedford Road into Powis Place. An alternative route will be available via Powis Terrace, Calsayseat Road and Leslie Terrace.
No parking will be allowed on the west side of Great Northern Road between Clifton Road and Lilybank Place.
