Christmas lights countdown begins


Work to install Aberdeen's glittering Christmas lights has begun.

Contractors are putting up the strings of colourful lights on Union Street, ahead of the switch-on ceremony on 25 November.

The work, which is being carried out in the evenings, is expected to take a week to ten days to complete. Each string will then be tested to ensure they are ready to sparkle when they are switched on during the popular Christmas Lights Switch-on event, featuring a parade of festive characters led down Union Street by the Lord Provost.
