Firms invited to apprenticeship recruitment event

A one-day apprenticeship recruitment event is being hosted by Aberdeen City Council next month.

A number of city-based firms have already signed up for the day, which is aimed at promoting apprenticeships available to school and college leavers. It follows on from a hugely successful recruitment day held last year, which attracted hundreds of young people, and gives companies the opportunity to promote vacancies and attract wider interest for upcoming apprenticeships.

A number of key businesses across a range of sectors, including hospitality, engineering, and construction will be offering opportunities for those aged 16 – 24. There is still time for companies to register for the event.

Apprenticeship vacancies in joinery, bricklaying, electrical, plumbing, engineering and painting are among those which will be on offer. Information on a wide range of career and training options will also be available. Aberdeen College and Skills Development Scotland will be among the organisations offering career advice.

The Apprenticeship Recruitment Day will be held in the Town and County Hall in the Town House, Broad Street, on Thursday, 03 April from 10am until 4pm.

Any organisations interested in participating should contact Heather Farquhar by emailing or calling 01224 523361 for more information or to book a place.
