Abigail Tierney - Corporate Director for Strategic Leadership
Abigail Tierney is Corporate Director for Strategic Leadership, which involves collaborating with the Public and Private Sector to lead and deliver a joined up vision for the City of Aberdeen.
Prior to taking up this role, Abi was a marketing strategist at IBM where she helped to lead the transformation of IBM from a technology company into a leading provider of business services. This coincided with a Research Fellowship at Oxford University, where she examined productivity and innovation in business and public services.
Abi completed her Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma, and has recently obtained an International Marketing Diploma from Duke University. Her academic background is in history, philosophy and public policy, and her Oxford D.Phil. analysed the factors that facilitated innovation and achievement in five highly prolific Nobel Prize winning laboratories.
In 1998, Abi was awarded a Kennedy Scholarship to study at MIT and Harvard, where she undertook courses and research in business administration and public policy.
