Fireworks Spectacular 2016

FIREWORKS CANCELLED

Unfortunately, we have taken the decision to cancel tonight's Firework display at Aberdeen Beach.

We are extremely disappointed that this year's display will not go ahead but the public's safety is our paramount concern and we are expecting increasing winds with gusts of up to 45mph up to launch time.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the best way to get to the fireworks display?
We highly recommend you use public transport or the Park and Ride services from Bridge of Don, Kingswells and Souter Head Road (Aberdeen Altens Hotel, AB12 3LF) Park and Ride. They all have drop off and pick up points very close to the display area.
  • Is there parking provided?
No, there isn't any dedicated parking spaces. There is a limited amount of parking for Blue Badge holders only on Links Road between Urquhart Road and the Beach Ballroom with access via Urquhart Road. Don't forget your blue badge and spaces are available on a first come first served basis. After the event, please be patient as you will need to wait for the crowds to leave before you are allowed to drive away.
  • What time do the roads close and reopen?
The majority of the roads close at 6.00pm and re-open at 9.30pm on Saturday 5 November 2016. There are some exceptions and full details on the road closures and traffic restrictions will be available here shortly.
  • Why are so many roads closed when the fireworks display is on?
As over 12,000 people annually attend this event we have to close the nearby roads to ensure everyone can enter, watch and leave the Queens Links area safely.
  • Can I bring sparklers to the event?
Sparklers are permitted, please use the sparkler bins provided.
  • Can I bring fireworks to the event?
No, in the interests of public safety we do not allow any fireworks or sky lanterns at the event. Anyone found with fireworks will have them removed.
  • What should I do if my child gets lost?
As this is a very popular and busy event please ensure you keep a close watch on young children at all times. Please tell your children that if they get lost to tell a Police Officer or Event Steward wearing hi-visibility clothing. Parents and carers should immediately report a lost child to a Police Officer or Event Steward with a description of their appearance and clothing.
