Aberdeen Art Gallery

One of the City’s most popular tourist attractions Aberdeen’s splendid Art Gallery houses an important fine art collection with particularly good examples of 19th, 20th and 21st Century works, a rich and diverse applied art collection, an exciting programme of special exhibitions, a gallery shop and a café.

Aberdeen Art Gallery is accessible to visitors with disabilities. Toilet facilities are available on the ground floor, a wheelchair is available and guidedogs are admitted. A baby changing room and pushchairs are available.

Aberdeen Maritime Museum

The City’s award-winning Maritime Museum brings the history of the North Sea to life. View displays and exhibitions on the offshore oil industry, shipbuilding, fishing and clipper ships then visit the museum shop and licensed Leading Lights Café.

Almost all of Aberdeen Maritime Museum is wheelchair accessible and an induction loop system is available in the auditorium. Guidedogs are admitted.

Language guides are available for visitors at Aberdeen Maritime Museum.

Provost Skene’s House

Dating from 1545, Provost Skene’s House now houses an attractive series of period rooms settings, recalling the elegant furnishings of earlier times. Visitors can see an intriguing series of religious paintings in the Painted Gallery, changing fashions in the Costume Gallery and enjoy a light snack in The Cellar at Provost Skene’s House. Displays of local interest, coins and archaeology are situated on the top floor.

Provost Skene’s House has very limited access on the upper floors for visitors with mobility difficulties. Toilets and The Cellar at Provost Skene’s House are accessible from the ground floor.

The Tolbooth

Aberdeen's Museum of civic History is a wonderful resource featuring displays of crime and punishment, local history and archaeology. The Tolbooth Museum closes for the winter season but tours exploring the history of the building and city are available for school and community groups.

The Tolbooth has very limited access for visitors with mobility difficulties. As only the entrance hall is accessible, a video presentation of the building is available.
