Canoeing is a superb action sport, allowing groups and individuals to take on adventurous journeys.

Open canoeing activities involve all types of locations to suit experience and skills. From flat sheltered water, lochs and reservoirs, through to big bouncy rapids on the Dee and the Don.

Canoeing is an excellent activity for all ages and abilities, introducing and developing a new set of movement and route-finding skills. The need to lift, carry and paddle canoes together creates many opportunities to develop teamwork, organisation and consideration skills.

Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland offer a variety of fantastic canoeing sites. The Rivers Dee, Don, Deveron, Spey, Ythan, and Esk offer something for every level of ability from gentle sheltered water to steep white water rapids. Lochs in Deeside, Donside and Speyside offer flat gentle water ideal for the novice.
