Mountain Biking

Get into the flow! A chance to experience Scotland's stunning scenery whilst still feeling that sense of adventure, and perhaps the wind in your hair! Mountain biking is an exhilarating way to see the natural environment, or develop new skills.

Don't panic if you are not up to cycling up the side of a mountain! All abilities are catered for, from gentle forest tracks which allow for a leisurely ride, to specially made courses which present major challenges to your stamina and skill. As there will inevitably be a difference in fitness and stamina levels within a group, mountain biking develops team working skills as team members will need to adapt and organise themselves to stay within the group.

The Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire area has many opportunities to go trail cycling, or mountain biking, with dedicated Forestry Commission mountain biking venues at Pitfichie and Kirkhill Forest. It is possible to spend a day exploring the tracks and paths of local forests, or link together a variety of stunning singletrack routes within the area. Adventure Aberdeen also has facilities to practice bike skills before tackling wilderness journeys. These include: a new on-site mountain bike course with banked berms, jumps, rock gardens and balance beams; and a mobile mountain bike skills set can be set up in a variety of different venues with varying degrees of difficulty.
