Answer two water safety / hygiene (See Swimmer and Parent Guide) Two questions answered correctly questions from list of questions
Move around confidently in deep water Demonstrate a combination of different skills eg  treading water, changing strokes, changing direction

In partners, perform a reaching rescue

Lie on poolside and reach out with aid using both hands, give clear instructions and bring partner safely to poolside
Perform a safe entry and tread water for 60 seconds (dependant on pool depth) Straddle entry – keep head above the water Tread Water, figure of 8 action with hands not sweeping past hips.
Push and Glide and streamline for 3m underwater Body to be completely submerged – arms extended, hands on top
Streamlined Push and Glide and Kick for 10m Arms Extended with Hands on Top, Head looking down and forward, kick without aids
Push and Glide into a forward somersault A controlled forward roll from a streamlined push/glide
Scull head first for 5 metres and feet first for 5 metres - supine Head First  -  ears in water, body flat, legs extended together, toes to surface.  Arm action from shoulder, regular figure of 8. movement to be seen. Without loss of motion change position of hands to continue to feet first.
Perform sitting dive and transition (dependant on pool depth) From poolside, arms extended, head down, kick to surface, holding streamlined position – see alternate options for shallow pools
Attempt a kneeling dive Hands in correct position, head between straight arms, one knee on edge, toes of other foot grip edge.  Push out not down, body to submerge just beneath the surface, kick to surface in streamlined position
Perform lifesaving H.E.L.P position HELP position to be motionless for 1 minute
Perform a head-first surface dive, picking up objects in 1.5m (dependant on pool depth) Head First – pike with legs extended above hips.  Feet First – whole body submerged – pick up object on both dives
Perform a feet-first surface dive, picking up objects in 1.5m (dependant on pool depth) Complete submersion to be achieved, ideally with simultaneous kick down in water, vigorous upwards swing of arms to streamlined position which will assist smooth submersion..
Kick 10m Breaststroke demonstrating dorsiflexion and eversion (feet turned out) and glide.  Also attempting timing of breathing With or without aids, continuous circling action (encourage narrow push back kick) with glide , showing dorsiflexion and eversion (encourage “timing”  breath, kick, glide)
Swim 10m Breaststroke, circling arms in front of body with glide.  Two handed touch to finish Simultaneous and circular arm and leg action showing dorsiflexion and eversion.  Correct timing of stroke as pull, breath, kick, glide
Kick 10m Butterfly on front and back without aids Continuous undulating action with legs together – relaxed
Swim 10m Butterfly attempting arm recovery with arms pulling through together Simultaneous dolphin leg action and simultaneous arm action with over the water recovery – head tucked with chin to chest
Kick 20m Frontcrawl streamlined Steady regular 6 beat kick to be encouraged, with /without aids
Swim 15m Frontcrawl with unilateral breathing showing correct finish With a smooth action, show alternating arm and leg action.  Hand entry in line with shoulder and arms recovering over the water, breathing to one side every stroke
Swim 10m Frontcrawl demonstrating bilateral breathing With a smooth action, show alternating arm and leg action.  Hand entry in line with shoulder and arms recovering over the water, breathing to each side every 3 arms strokes
B/C Push Off from wall in streamlined position with extended arms, Kick for 10m Smooth Push off from wall with minimal splash, Hands on Top with ears in water, straight arms, tummy up, toes bubbling surface
Swim 20m Backstroke showing correct finish With correct body position and head still – continuous, alternating arm and leg action. Finish on back with any part of body touching wall
