Milk in Schools
Details
Nursery children in Aberdeen City have received free milk for a number of years.
At the Resources Management Committee meeting in June 2002 it was agreed to launch a pilot scheme whereby Primary 1 Pupils in the Northfield, St Machar and Torry A.S.G's (20 schools in total) would receive free school milk. This pilot ran from August 2002 until December 2002.
Due to the high uptake of milk during the pilot scheme it was decided to extend the free milk provision to all primary 1 pupils in Aberdeen schools from 13 January 2003.
