Aberdeen Football Club
Active Schools Aberdeen is working in partnership with Aberdeen Football Club (AFC) to help deliver several initiatives across the city. Food Standards Agency (FSA) Football is the first project. This consists of 6 weeks worth of coaching for chosen schools across the city for the P6 age group. This initiative also ran last year and was highly successful.
The second is McDonalds Football. The main focus of this is to target children who dont play for the school teams. This is a 20 week coaching programme with the aim for each school to get 1 boys team and 1 girls team from P7. The chosen schools then compete against other in a series of matches throughout the 20 weeks.
The third is Soccer One, this is focused on S1 pupils and the aim is that the McDonalds programme is sustained for those children who took part through this scheme. These are all national initiatives.
