Introduction
Welcome to Bankhead and Dyce ASG Active Schools web page. Here you will find information on the activities and programmes related to Bankhead Academy, Dyce Academy, Bucksburn Primary, Dyce Primary, Kingswells Primary, Newhills Primary & Stoneywood Primary.
The aim for the ASG’s is to have a cohesive approach to sports and activities and get inter school festivals and competitions going on a regular basis, linking in with City wide festivals. There are also an array of transition clubs running all year round for P6 – S2 pupils giving them a chance to get to know other people their own age that they will be going to secondary school with.

Run, Jump and Throw Athletics Club
I have teamed up with the Coordinator for Bridge of Don and Oldmachar to set up a Run, Jump and Throw Athletics Club starting on 12th Nov. Due to instructor availability we are only able to have 1 club for all 4 ASG's. We are running it at Danestone Community Centre as this was the only central venue available at the times we required. Primary 1-3's are from 4pm - 5pm, Primary 4-7 are from 5pm - 6pm. The cost for the block is £12.

Scottish Schools Gymnastics
Good luck to Dyce Primary in the Scottish Schools Gymnastics Competition held at the Beach Leisure Centre on Sat 8th Nov. The school has 3 teams entered this year and are hoping to follow up on their triumph of last year! They will be competing against 14 other primary schools from across the city, with the top 2 in each level going on to represent Aberdeen in the Regional competition in March. The are 180 children taking part in the competition.
Coaching Courses
Active Schools offers a range of coaching courses throughout the year. The Child Protection Flyer below has a list of upcoming courses along with details of the course itself. We strongly recommend anyone working with Active Schools go through this Child Protection training.

ASG Activities
A range of ASG activities are on offer this year at various points. So far we have the Run Jump and Throw Athletics Club, Hazlehead Rugby, Hockey (Dyce Academy) and starting up after the new year with be the Girls Only Hip Hop Club, plus many more!!!!
