Dance Fest

Beechwood, Hazlewood and Cordyce

During last term Beechwood, Hazlewood and Cordyce received dance tuition from CityMoves.  Throughout these weeks, the children have been creating their own dance routines, these routines where showcased at the CityMoves studio on 6th June 2008.

Cordyce school boys have been creating hip - hop routines incorporating gymnastics style jumps and flips!

Beechwood school had girls only dance sessions and have been working on different dance moves throughout these sessions.

Hazlewood have had dance sessions throughout their lunchtimes, a good way to work off lunch!

Due to circumstances Marlpool could not attend the Dance Fest.  Go to the school link to see fantastic pictures!

Going for Gold

Marlpool and Beechwood

Go for Gold is a scheme to encourage lunchtime walking, the more days you walk, the higher the achievement.  Beechwood and Marlpool have been doing this throughout last term and have been doing great!  The scheme ran from 6th May to 30th May, that was 18 school days.  There was a route planned out in the school grounds and every time a pupil walked around the route their personal record was marked with a star.

Beechwood school decided to theme there days, they included Caps and Shades, Reward Days, Sticker Days and even Music Days!

This lunchtime walking will be continuing after the summer break!
