Holiday Camps - Summer 2008
During the upcoming summer holidays Active Schools are running a wide variety of sports camps. There are camps available for all primary school ages throughout the city. We've got 10 camps running this summer, so there is definitely something for everyone. All of our camps will be led by high quality, fully qualified coaches, with all adults involved being fully disclosure checked by Disclosure Scotland.
Most of the camps run for 2 hours a day over the course of a week and offer tremendous value for money. Signing up for these great fun camps couldn't be easier, all you need to do is contact Hazel Watt on 01224 346389. Bookings can be made from Monday 26th May. Holiday Camps - Summer 2008 Timetable
The Big Run 2008
Children from across Aberdeen are being invited to take part in the Big Run at Hazlehead Park on Saturday 17th May 2008.
The Big Run is a series of small runs for youngsters in primary five to S2.
Primary pupils will be challenged to run 1600m round the games field, while secondary pupils will go a bit further and run 2400m.
All runners will receive a race number prior to the event. As they cross the finish line they will be rewarded with a medal and free fruit and water.
There will be prizes for the first, second and third boy and girl in each age group. Team trophies will also be awarded to the first school teams in each age group.
S1 boys and girls will run at 10.00am, followed by S2 boys and girls at 10.30am; P5 boys and girls at 11.00am, P6 boys and girls at 11.30am; and P7 boys and girls at 12 noon.

Cross Country Series
After the success of the Hazlehead/Northfield ASG Cross Country series at Sheddocksley last year Active Schools have with the help of sponsorship from run-4-it have included another 4 venues (Bankhead, Cults, Inverdee, Harlaw Road Playing Field and Sheddocksley Sports Field) throughout the city to encourage P5-S2 pupils to get running.
