Nursery School Places

Details

Aberdeen City Council has a statutory duty to secure funded part-time pre-school education places for all children from the school term following their third birthdays until they are ready to start school. We offer free places at a local authority school nurseries and financially supported places in registered centres in partnership with the Council in the independent, voluntary and private sectors.

Parents should contact the pre-school education provider of their choice to apply for a place. A list of the registered centres in the city, the timetable for application and criteria for admission are available in the Council’s Nursery Admissions Policy.

Zoning changes have been proposed as part of the School Estates Strategy and these are currently the subject of formal public consultation exercises. The Nursery Admissions Policy document will be amended in May to reflect any zoning changes implemented as part of the Strategy.
