Mineral Extraction
Details
Development proposals for mineral extraction in the city will be judged primarily on the basis of policies in the development plan for the area. The development plan for Aberdeen comprises both the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Structure Plan "North East Scotland Together" and the Aberdeen Local Plan "Green Spaces New Places".
Relevant policies in the Structure Plan include, for example, Policies 19 (Wildlife, Landscape and Land Resources), 24 (Minerals), 26 (Four Tier Policy Areas for Minerals, Landfill, Land Raise and Wind Farm Proposals), and 28 (Development in the Green Belt).
Relevant policies in the Local Plan include, for example, Policies 17 (Mineral Extraction), 28 (Green Belt), 31 (Landscape Protection), 34 (Natural Heritage), 71 (Pipelines and Control of Major Accident Hazards) and Appendix 1 (Four Tier Policy Areas for Minerals, Landfill, Land Raise and Wind Farm Proposals).
