Parents as Early Education Partners (PEEP)

Details

Parents as Early Educational Partners (PEEP) supports parents and carers as their children's first and most important educators.

Trained PEEP leaders from Health, Education, Social Work and the voluntary sector run groups across the city for parents/carers and their children from birth to five years of age.

In Aberdeen PEEP is funded through Changing Children's Services to enable partnership working. Multi-agency training is available for professionals who wish to develop group work (universal or targeted) or individual programmes.

Group leaders provide ideas and activities which support children's learning in everyday situations. These include:

  • songs
  • stories
  • adult talk time
  • play activities and;
  • opportunities to borrow books and play packs
