EXPLORE ABERDEEN

Scientific Research

Much of the archaeological evidence discovered for this Project came from examining the remains of middens and cess-pits. The University of York and Palaeoecology Research Services analysed and interpreted around 150 soil samples taken from such locations. The samples contained microscopic remains of ancient plants, beetles and parasites all collected and stored during 25 years of excavation in the City.
