Scotland in History.

To complement the BBC's "Scotland's History" Project, we have mounted a small display of images,
maps and books portraying the varied and tempestuous story of our nation's past.

Over the coming months the BBC Scotland will explore Scotland's History on Television, in Radio
programmes and online at their new definitive online history resource. BBC Scotland's History

Treasured Places: Recommendations sought for Aberdeen's Top Ten

The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) are
celebrating their first 100 Years with an exhibition reflecting the richness and variety of
Scotland's built heritage. One section of the exhibition displays the Top Ten Treasured Places
in Scotland as voted for by the public and, although 9 of the top 100 were to be found in
Grampian, only King's College made it into the top ten.

We would like to invite you to submit your personal recommendation/s for inclusion in a list of
Aberdeen's 10 most Treasured Places. Images of the places from Grampian which made it to
the top 100 can be seen on the Information Services floor and you can pick up a form to submit
your nominations for Aberdeen's top ten. Alternatively, please email us at the address below
with up to three of your favourites, in order of preference, e.g. Central Library (pictured right).
Please enter "Treasured Places" in the subject box. The chosen places will be featured in an
Information Services display in January.

The RCAHMS Exhibition, which is at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh till mid January, can be
viewed online from RCAHMS Treasured Places
