Landlord Information Session November 2007

Aberdeen City Council hosted a landlord information session on the 15th of November 2007.

The event aimed to increase landlord’s knowledge of the new repairing standard and the Private Rented Housing Panel (which were both introduced on 3rd September 2007) and the national roll out of the Local Housing Allowance which is due to take place from the 7th of April 2008.  It also included an update on the Council’s progress with the Landlord Registration Scheme.

The event was well attended and we hope to be able to provide more events like this one in the future.

The Rent Registration Service is keen to ensure that the Local Housing Allowance is set at an appropriate level for Aberdeen City.  They are currently undertaking a major information gathering exercise of rent levels within Aberdeen in order to do this.  They need your help to do this (regardless of whether your tenant relies on benefit to help with their rent), they have produced a Market Data Form available here which can be completed and returned to them.  This will allow them to set a realistic Local Housing Allowance for Aberdeen City.  To ensure that their database is current, relevant and robust, it is their practice to contact their sources twice a year to request up to date rental information.

The information contained on this form is held solely by the Rent Registration Service and may only be used to for the purpose it is intended (calculating the LHA for Aberdeen).  The information cannot be shared with any other body.
