Usually there is no financial assistance towards bringing up adoptive children, but this does depend on the assessed needs of the child at placement. In certain circumstances an Adoption Allowance may be approved which would be subject to annual review.
How the decision is made as to whether to accept you as an adoptive parent is the subject of the next section:
If a child is placed with you prior to being 'Freed' by the courts, you will receive a weekly allowance for the child up until this process is completed. This allowance is based on the child’s age.
