Community Occupational Therapy in Aberdeen City

Details

The Community Occupational Therapy Service provides help for people of all ages who experience difficulty coping with everyday activities due to disability, illness and/or the ageing process. The aim of Occupational Therapy is to provide a comprehensive service to enable people to remain as independent as possible within the community.

There are four teams of Occupational Therapists and Assistants in Aberdeen. Three of the teams cover the north, south and central of the city and are based within integrated health care/social work teams in GP practices/health centres in these areas. The fourth team, the Intake team is based at the City Hospital and it provides a city wide, quick response service for short term cases. The Integrated Duty Point, housing Occupational Therapist and Horizons Occupational Therapist also work within this team. The Occupational Therapy clerical staff are also based at the City Hospital.

The Occupational Therapy equipment store is based in Torry and has a manager, assistant manager, technician, two driver/handymen, three storemen and a clerical assistant.
