Gordon McIntosh - Corporate Director, Neighbourhood Services (South Area)
Gordon McIntosh graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc Honours Degree in Geography and gained a post-graduate degree in Accountancy Studies from the University of Aberdeen.
He was an Insolvency Manager with KPMG for five years before moving to NESDA (North East Scotland Development Agency) where he became an Assistant Director. In 1990, NESDA became part of Grampian Regional Councils Economic Development and Planning Department, and Gordon maintained his position as Assistant Director before becoming Director of Economic Development in 1995.
In 2001, he was appointed as Corporate Director for Neighbourhood Services (Central Area) and, in September 2005, he was appointed Corporate Director for Neighbourhood Services (South Area).
Gordon believes that the step change will enable the Council to achieve its goal of being an effective, flexible and modern Local Authority that will bring its customers properly in to focus. The key is to listen to, and work closely with, all of the communities of Aberdeen.
