Haudagain Roundabout Stag Appraisal
PUBLIC CONSULTATION
The Scottish Executive and NESTRANS (North East of Scotland Transport Partnership) funded a study to investigate various options for improving traffic flows at the Haudagain roundabout in the short (up to 2007), medium (up to 2011) and long term (up to 2021). The long term scenarios tested include the predicted impact of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.
A STAG (Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance) appraisal is now being undertaken which will consider the following:
- analysis of existing and potential problems, constraints and opportunities at the junction
- setting objectives that any options should address (objectives should be considered under the STAG appraisal headings relating to Environment, Safety, Economy, Social Inclusion and Accessibility and Integration)
- option generation, sifting and development
We are taking this opportunity to identify public opinion on the options that have been tested to date in traffic terms and to identify if there are further solutions that could meet the objectives that have been set and should therefore also be considered.
Feedback on the options tested and any new options identified will be incorporated into the STAG appraisal which will identify an overall preferred option to be taken forward for further consideration.
The options have been assessed to date in traffic terms only and no account has been taken at this stage of land availability, design constraints or detailed costs.
Please consider the information below and complete the questionnaire if you wish to provide your views on the future of Haudagain roundabout and return it to SIAS Limited, 37 Manor Place, Edinburgh, EH3 7EB by 18th August 2006.
