Review of Aberdeen City Council's 'Local Transport Strategy' (LTS)

Transport Issues Questionnaire

Help us plan future transport investment in Aberdeen City! This consultation closes on Friday 15th July.

What we want to do and achieve through the Local Transport Strategy:

Ease problems for all forms of travel, whether by car, public transport, delivery vehicle, by bicycle or on foot. At the same time we want to improve the attractiveness of the most sustainable forms of transport so that travellers will increasingly choose these.

Please fill in this questionnaire to have a say over where we should be encouraging investment in transport.

Our strategy will:

  • Help reduce congestion.
  • Demonstrate the benefits of different forms of travel.
  • Improve travel opportunities for the third of households in Aberdeen that don't have access to a car.

The impact will be to:

  • Help the growth and diversification of Aberdeen's economy by providing a first class transport system that will encourage investment in the City.
  • Improve the environment, particularly by reducing air and noise pollution, reduce the use of non-renewable resources and impacts of global warming.
  • Continue to reduce road casualties and improve the health of Aberdeen's residents.
  •  Be more socially inclusive.

How you can help

You can help us develop the new LTS and plan future transport in Aberdeen by giving us your views on what you feel are the major transport issues in the City. We want to find out what you think are the major transport options the City Council should be investing in. To let us know your views please complete this questionnaire. All replies will be treated in the strictest confidence. Results will be published on this website.

Next steps The results of the questionnaire will be used to help shape the development of a draft LTS. The draft will be available for public consultation early in 2006 and the final document will be submitted to the Scottish Executive in 12 months from now.
