Informal Consultation with Businesses in the Altens, Tullos (East and West) and Torry Areas
This is an informal consultation with businesses in the above areas, the prime purpose of which is to seek from the principal stakeholders, comments on the proposals as outlined below.
Area Eleven Traffic Management Review Including Altens, Tullos and the Esplanades in TorryAn Area Traffic Management Review is currently being progressed towards the statutory consultation stage of the legislative process.
As part of this process an informal consultation is being carried out with all businesses in Altens, Tullos (East and West) and Torry including the Esplanades and Altens.
This informal consultation provides businesses with an opportunity to view, discuss and comment on the proposals prior to progressing towards the statutory/public consultation stage.
There will be a further opportunity later during the public consultation stage to view and make any formal objections. This will be done through street notices and media public notices.
As a Roads Authority, the Council carries out regular Area Traffic Management Reviews (ATMR) of Aberdeen City. During these reviews, the Council looks at and considers; waiting restrictions; obstructive parking/parking issues; and any small scale traffic/pedestrian/cycling improvements that may be required to improve traffic management. The considerations and proposals are gleaned from correspondence and feedback received since the previous ATMR.
The Area 11 ATMR was approved in 2002 after completing the legal consultation process. Unfortunately no funding was available to implement the necessary works and the legislation has now lapsed. The Council is now taking the previously approved proposals along with new proposals back through the legislative process of statutory and public consultation.
Below is a small map of the area involved showing the existing restrictions (blue) and the previous and new proposals (red).
It is anticipated, depending on any objections that the implementation of works for this Area Traffic Management Review will take place from December 2005 and be completed by March 2006.
